Experience Candombe from the inside 🥁🇺🇾
Discover one of Uruguay's most representative cultural expressions through a 1-hour-and-15-minute participatory experience.
During the workshop, you'll learn about the origins, history and culture of Candombe while discovering the three traditional drums that bring its rhythm to life: chico, repique and piano.
You'll have the opportunity to play and try each of the three drums yourself. Step by step, you'll be guided to recognize their different sounds and understand the role each drum plays within the rhythm.
Then it's time to bring them together. Discover how the chico, repique and piano interact when played as a group, recreating the dynamics of a traditional cuerda de tambores.
An experience designed to learn, play, listen and feel Candombe while connecting with Uruguayan culture in an authentic, fun and participatory way.
